PreIntermediate and Intermediate
Medal and Awards Day
Sunday 5th July 2026

Click here for running order (updated 02/7/26)

Hello,

Thank you so much for signing up to dance a solo at our Medals and Awards day on Sunday 5th July at The Deep End at Rawlins Quorn.

There will be an incredible 139 performances throughout the day (and that's just PreInters and Inters! Our Juniors and Seniors are dancing at different days!).   So we're doing our very best to make sure the day is planned well and runs super smoothly so that each and every one of our dancers has the most wonderful confidence-building experience.

HOW IT WORKS

The day is split into Sections.

Dancers within each section must be present for the ENTIRE section, arriving 15minutes before the section start time.  Dancers sit in order and each perform their routine watched encouragingly by our VIP's.  After all the dancers within the section have performed, they line up and receive comments and their award from the VIPs. After this has completed, you can go home or quickly get ready for your next section.

Dancers and Audience members are not to come and go during the section as this is very distracting to our dancers.  If you do need to leave or reenter for the toilet or those needing to change for a 2nd dance within the same section please exit and enter BETWEEN performances.  There are lots of dancers dancing twice within one section, after your first performance please escort your dancer and get them ready for their next dance in the small studio in the deep end or toilet changing rooms, and then reenter the hall once ready (between dances).

PROMPTING

Your teacher will also be there for your performance to encourage you and prompt as required.  We are very good at reading how much help and prompting is required as we go, but what a brilliant achievement it is for our dancers when they remember the whole routine themselves - this is what we should be aiming for (for our Intermediates especially).

THE RUNNING ORDER

Please find attached the full running order.  As you can appreciate, it's been really tricky putting this together taking so many variables into account.  Rhiannon and Emma (thank you ladies!) have worked really hard to try and make sure all children are only required for a maximum of 2 sessions, and (wherever possible) that these sessions are concurrent so that the children (and you!) don't have to hang around too long.  Sadly no amendments can be made at this stage (unless we've made an error).

WHAT TO WEAR

These performances should be costumed and not in AMC uniform (so that it feels like a proper performance).  As this is a solo performance, there's a flexibility in what you can wear.  However, you should always wear the correct dance shoes, have all hair very neatly styled and tied back and choose an outfit that is appropriate, safe to dance in and we can properly see your dance steps and arms - (floor length dresses for example aren't appropriate).

As a guide, here is what your teachers have suggested...

  • PreInter Ballet 1 --Summer dress with leotard and ballet/tan tights underneath, Show costume is ideal. Ballet shoes

  • PreInter Ballet 2 - Summer dress or skirt. Please ensure leotard and tan/ballet tights are worn underneath. Show costume is ideal. Ballet shoes
