Meet the team
Adele Clarke Principal & Owner
The school is founded and lead by Adele Clarke. A graduate from Northampton University who holds vast experience in dance and working with children, Adele started AMC in 2011 with a mission of improving confidence, developing skills and technique, and showing the joy that dance can bring to as many children and adults as possible, in a super fun and stress-free environment. An ethos which still stands true today.
Starting dance at the age of 3, Adele spent 15 years at The Bannister Academy of Dance in Loughborough where she also began to teach before leaving to study in Northampton. Whilst at university, Adele founded and captained the University of Northampton Dance Club, teaching and encouraging over 250 students during her time there. She also choreographed for and lead national competition pieces and won a multitude of awards with the team. Adele has worked in schools with Aimhigher Northamptonshire, raising the aspirations of children from across the county, has taught countless workshops on behalf of councils, schools and private organisations, and has earnt over 15 years of dance teaching experience.
Adele leads our Quorn and Rothley Tots classes, Adult Ballet, Adult Modern & Jazz and some of our Adult Tap classes. She also teaches or assists all of our Junior classes, Intermediate classes, Senior classes and PreSenior Ballet and Contemporary - you'll basically find her in most of our classes either teaching, assisting or supporting the team. Adele is a certified Progressing Ballet Technique instructor - meaning she's own resident expert in enhancing technique, strength and conditioning to aid ballet technique for all of our students. In 2020, Adele was named 'Leader of the Year' in the children's activity sector in the prestigious national Club Hub awards.
She is also the organiser of Dance Caper – a large yet local annual dance festival providing performance opportunities to over 500 dancers from across the UK.
Adele prides herself in leading well-organised, structured dance sessions that focus on technique, performance skills, building confidence and above all FUN!
Sarah Weston Assistant Principal
Dancing since she was 3 years old, Sarah has always loved all kinds of dance and has always been a part of a dance school and classes. Dancing at Karen Loomes Dance Academy throughout her childhood, she later danced at Kibworth Dance Centre, before joining AMC in 2013.
Sarah has always been a core member of the school and is known for her warmth, encouragement and technical dancing ability. Over the years, Sarah has become more and more involved in the school - both in assisting with teaching and administration, resulting in her promotion to Assistant Principal in 2020.
Sarah oversees much of our administration - answering your queries, and making you feel super welcome at our dance school. She is often described as 'the glue that holds it all together' - and she really is!
You'll also see her assisting with the teaching of all of our Adult Tap, Ballet and Modern/Jazz classes, our Ballet en Pointe class, many of our Junior classes and our Sunday Tots classes.
Annabel Banks Dance Instructor
Annabel has been dancing since a young child, and with AMC School of Dance for over eight years. She has been teaching for us since 2015, after completing teacher training with the school, and over that time has become a pivotal member of the AMC staff team.
Her confident, structured and friendly teaching style brings out the very best in her dancers - whatever their age and ability.
In our 'School of Dance' classes, Annabel leads our Intermediate Tap, Intermediate Modern, PreSenior and Senior Tap and PreSenior Modern classes, as well as co-teaching our Intermediate Ballet class and a range of other classes.
Annabel is also a well-loved Adult classes Instructor, leading all of our Adult Improvers and Monday Adult Beginners Tap classes.
You will also see Annabel as the lead Instructor in our annual Tapathon events.
Ella Hague Dance Instructor
After dancing with AMC for over four years, Ella trained with the school to become a dance instructor alongside her further education in dance at Leicester College. Ella then continued her dance education in York before returning to AMC to reprise her teaching role in 2019.
A super creative, popular and bubbly instructor, Ella is our Street and Commercial specialist - leading our Junior, Intermediate and PreSenior/Senior Street classes, as well as our Junior Modern classes. Ella is also the Manager and Lead Instructor of our new Wymeswold Tots classes, as well as also assisting with the Friday Tots classes in Rothley - using her experience as a mother herself to really engage our youngest students.
You will also see Ella co-teaching our Rothley Beginners Adult Tap classes alongside Adele, as well as leading a range of workshops throughout AMC.
Liberty Wisehall Dance Instructor
Liberty (known as Libby), originally joined the AMC team in 2018, and after a brief hiatus to travel the world as a professional dancer, she has now returned to reprise her Dance Instructor role, leading Senior Modern and Senior Tap classes and taking charge of Senior Contemporary.
Libby also leads lots of our Adult workshops (specialising in Latin) and is our resident strength and conditioning expert.
A graduate from Leicester's prestigious Addict Dance Academy, Libby then went on to work as a dancer on Princess Cruises - performing all over the world.
A super talented dancer in her own right, Libby's creative routines and encouraging attitude really helps her pupils achieve their potential.
Natasha Coster Administrator
Natasha is in charge of all admin for our Intermediate and PreSenior classes, as well as sorting out all the AMC clothing for all of our pupils and taking a lead role in special event costumes, admin and logistics.
She answers any questions you may have and generally makes sure everything runs smoothly. Mother of one of our Senior pupils, Natasha brings a vital 'dance mum' perspective to the team.
Natasha is also a member of our Monday Adult Improvers Tap group.
Senior dancers Laila, India and Amber joined some of our Junior and Intermediate classes as of January 2020 to learn what it takes to teach dance and support our pupils. They're guided and set challenges by AMC teachers that will develop their mentoring, leadership, public speaking and organisational skills.
