At AMC School of Dance, we do things a little differently. Based in Quorn, near Loughborough, we’re an independent community dance school offering fun, inclusive, and inspiring dance classes for children, teens, and adults across six days a week.

Since 2011, we’ve welcomed hundreds of students into our friendly, nurturing environment where dance is for everyone - regardless of experience or ability. Whether you’re taking your very first steps or returning to something you once loved, AMC is a place to belong, grow, and experience the true joy of dance - without pressure, judgement, or competition.

What We Offer

At AMC School of Dance, we offer a wide range of joyful, inclusive classes - each one thoughtfully designed and professionally delivered to support growth, confidence, and creativity at every stage.

Tots Creative Movement
Imaginative, music-led sessions for pre-schoolers that gently introduce rhythm, movement, and skills to get your tiny dancer 'school ready', all in a relaxed and nurturing environment.

Children’s & Youth Classes
Ballet, Modern & Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Commercial, Street Dance, and Ballet en Pointe.  Classes are open to all abilities and tailored by age and experience.

Adult Dance Classes

Fun, friendly sessions for all levels - ideal for returning dancers, complete beginners, or anyone looking to enjoy movement, meet new people, and have a great time learning dance.

Outreach & Community Work
We’re proud to take dance beyond the studio through workshops in schools, nurseries, and care homes, as well as community events and parties. Working with a range of organisations, our sessions are inclusive, uplifting, and designed to bring the joy of movement to everyone - regardless of age, ability, or background.

Classes are taught by a passionate, highly experienced team of dance instructors - many of whom have trained and grown with us—so every class carries the heart and soul of AMC.

There are no exams and no competitions at AMC. We believe children (and adults!) should have the opportunity to dance because they love it, without comparison. That means all of our classes are relaxed, yet purposeful - with progress celebrated through creativity, performance, and personal growth.

🌈 Joyful, Inclusive and Welcoming

Everyone is treated with kindness, respect and care. There are no favourites, no cliques, no 'elite' teams, and no expectations to be “perfect.” Our aim is that every dancer - child or adult - feels safe, supported, and seen.

AMC is more than just a dance school - it’s a community. From friendly faces at the door to theatre trips, workshops, parties and shows, we bring people together in a place where connections grow and confidence thrives.

🎓 Expert Teaching, Home-Grown Team

All of our choreography, class content, and planning is created in-house by our experienced team, drawing on a wide range of training across multiple dance genres and educational backgrounds.

In our children’s classes, our passionate Dance Instructors are supported by our friendly and efficient AMC Admin Team, who help ensure everything runs smoothly - maintaining clear communication with families and providing additional support in class where needed.

We’re also proud to be mentoring a wonderful team of Junior Instructors and Student Helpers - teenage members of our School of Dance who are training to become the next generation of AMC teachers. They bring energy, warmth, and serve as inspiring role models for our younger dancers through their kindness, dedication, and love of dance.

💰 Affordable for Families

We know that dance can be expensive - but it doesn’t have to be. We work hard to keep costs low, especially for the 'extras' - such as show costumes, tickets and workshops. Our multi-class discounts apply per family, not just per dancer - and we have a price cap to make dance accessible for everyone.

🎭 Performance Opportunities

We love to celebrate our dancers’ progress - without the stress of formal exams. Each year, we proudly present these optional opportunities:

• A full-scale annual production for our School of Dance pupils and Adult dance members

• Festive Displays and Senior Showcases for our School of Dance pupils

• Uplifting Medal and Awards Sessions, where students perform non-scored and non-competitive solos and receive an award from a VIP for our School of Dance pupils

• Intergenerational dance events with our local care home for our Tots and School of Dance pupils

• Plus watching weeks, theatre trips, the annual Tapathon, workshops, dance parties and community performance events throughout the year.

These are relaxed, joyful optional opportunities to shine - and are a highlight for both our dancers and their families.
