Chance2Dance
Birmingham Hippodrome - 10th November 2024
LOGISTICS
-
We need to check in at Birmingham Hippodrome at 8am.
-
For those travelling by coach, please ensure you are at Quorn Village Hall for 6.35am. The coach WILL LEAVE at 6.45am.
-
If you are meeting us there, please meet outside the main foyer just before 8am. There will be lots of Chance2Dance staff to direct you if you cannot see us.
-
Once we get to the Hippdrome, we will be assigned a C2D staff member who will show us to our dressing room. PLEASE NOTE – only performers and staff may come to the dressing room with us. At this point, parents and family can have a mooch around Birmingham before the show.
-
We usually get settled in our dressing room then go down to the auditorium for a briefing from the chance2dance team, before returning to the dressing room to get ready for the show.
-
The show starts at 11am. I still have not been sent the full running order – I’ll send it to you all when I know. AMC has 3 slots within the show… 1) 42nd Street / 2) Boots for Walking, German Folkdance, Shooting Star / 3) Pasodoble
-
The end of the show involves us all coming on stage for a finale
-
The show finishes at 1.30pm. Guardians will be directed as to where to collect your children and we will come down to you after collecting our things at 1.45pm-2pm
-
The coach is due to leave Birmingham Hippodrome 2.10pm returning back to Quorn Village Hall.

CLOTHING AND COSTUMES
-
Please can all performers travel and arrive at Birmingham Hippdrome in black leggings, and (if you have one) your AMC tshirt, jumper/hoodie etc.
-
Hair should be done ready (see below)
-
Please make sure all costumes and belongings are name labelled and packed nicely. For example, the adult modern dresses in particular are very prone to creasing so should be pressed ahead of the day and stored in a costume carrier.
-
Please try all your costumes and think about what underwear is appropriate
-
If you would like to, our chosen nail colour is bright red this year. Please do these ahead of the day!
-
Make up: we want stage makeup please (so good coverage foundation, blush etc) then a bright red lip, a natural/bronze eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara etc.
INTERMEDIATES: We will do your make up. Come with your base make up done (foundation). Miss Emma and the chaperones will apply your lipstick (which we have – and we have individual applicators) eye shadow etc. Please let us know if you have any allergies.

HAIR
We’d like all School of Dance pupils to have a low bun using a medium donut, this time with a centre
parting please (like this)
Bring lots of hairspray and grips.
Adults – if you can do this hairstyle for Tap and the pasodoble please do, if not style as desired.
For Adult Modern – 60’s style as you please.
