HAIR AND MAKE UP

All female School of Dance pupils are to have their hair as follows for all dances within the show:
Juniors, PreInters, Inters:  A Low Ballet Donut Bun - ideally with a centre parting  you can see a tutorial here. 
Seniors - 2 french plaits
Boys with long hair should have this very neatly tied back.

Use lots of hairspray, we want the hair slicked and sleek with no fringes or wispy bits at all please. 

The only exceptions to this are girls with very short hair (shorter than a bob) - in these instances any fringe must be extremely neatly clipped back.  If you are struggling with hair please let us know ahead of time and we will pair you with someone to help.

Make Up - foundation, red lipstick, blue eyeshadow (brown for Seniors), blusher (plus black mascara and eyeliner for older pupils) is encouraged for all female pupils (a little foundation for boys is also a good idea) however makeup is at the parents discretion.  Show lighting tends to make you look washed out so we go heavy on the make up - it's also a fun part of the experience.

​Adult Class Members - your hair and makeup can be styled however you like.

CLOTHES FOR BACKSTAGE

We encourage you bring a zip through hoodie to wear backstage and bring all of your belongings in 1 single box (NOT SUITCASE!) to keep them all together.

ALL CLOTHES AND COSTUME MUST BE LABELLED WITH YOUR CHILDS NAME!!

Please pay for your costumes asap. Please bring the correct cash for all purchases in an envelope to class with:

- your full name

- class(es) the money is for
- and total money inside written on the front. 

You will receive your costume upon payment or as soon as it's ready.

Other than finale - i've listed the costumes in show running order.

• FINALE - ALL DANCERS EXCEPT SENIOR CHARACTERS AND BALLET 1
  Either Black stirrup uniform leggings or black jogging bottoms
  Finale tshirt (you will be given this at the dress rehearsal)
  Appropriate dance shoes
  Senior characters - wear your character costume
  Ballet 1 Crocodiles - wear your costume (this includes the finale tshirt anyway)
   

• BALLET 3 (Saturday and Sunday pupils) - Second Star to the Right
  From us to buy: Navy blue lyrical dress, Navy scrunchie  Total cost: £20
  You provide: no socks, ballet shoes
   

• PREINTER MODERN- When You're A Kid
  From us to buy: Checked Pyjamas, Red Hair Bow  Total cost: £19  
  You provide: Black ankle socks, Black vest top, black t-shirt or black leotard to be worn underneath, Black jazz shoes
   

• ADULT TAP - Motown Party
  From us to buy: Silver Trousers, Silver Neck Tie Total cost: £15
  You provide: plain black round neck tshirt, black tap shoes
